After much distraction, I finally managed to get down to visit the Eleonore tonight.Lying in the last public harbour in Linz, the Winterhafen, she is a station for exploration of technological, cultural and artistic practices. One of the things that I am really liking about the Eleonore is her residency program, which has been interesting as well as peculiar. Check out the ship’s log of notes from various residents. In particular I enjoyed the strangeness of the closing “happening” from the last residency.
The residency program is ongoing. Please submit proposals and spend some time. The summer is the most comfortable but other seasons are even more interesting. Radio waves, water dancing, solar technology, strange tales of the sea. It’s all grist for the mill. There are three programs based on Eleonore as well as the technology / new media residency on Junix in the Netherlands.
