Several years ago we had the pleasure of showing some of Michael Aschauer’s River Studies work here in Linz, the Danube Panorama.

Linear rivers.

The images are developed using a form of computational photography, digital slit photography, where the moving perspective of a vessel along the watercourse is used to create a linear representation of the river. Interesting artefacts arise as a result, allowing an unusual perspective on river travel, reflecting the linear nature of flow.

Michael will be showing the works in Vienna at the Fotok gallery. Thoroughly recommended.
